What is it?
Much more than student exchanges
Erasmus+ is the EU's umbrella programme for education, training, youth and sport, with a budget of β¬26.2 billion for 2021β2027.
It covers everything from student exchanges in higher education to internships for vocational learners, youth participation activities, DiscoverEU travel for 18-year-olds and mobility for sports professionals. The current programme period focuses on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and democratic participation.
Note: Most opportunities require you to apply through a university, training centre or organisation β not directly as an individual.

How it works
Contact your organisation
Erasmus+ is applied for through your university, school or youth organisation β not directly as an individual.
Apply through your institution
Your institution applies for Erasmus+ funding. Ask your international coordinator about the opportunities available.
Get nominated
Your institution nominates you for an exchange or internship at a partner institution.
Prepare
Apply for a visa if needed, start your language preparation via OLS and arrange accommodation.
Go and return with recognised credits
Your academic results are recognised at home. Competences are documented in Europass.
